Aha! Finally some sense about political correctness

I'm not gonna try and paraphrase this article too much because it's kind of long and it says it all well anyway. Suffice to say, the many, many moaners and whingers about political correctness are barking up the wrong tree, while the comedies they praise for being PC-busters are far more subtle than they think.

OK - to paraphrase slightly (and put something under "Read more" for once): political correctness was and is a necessary way of getting rid of the innate racism, homophobia and other simply wrong attitudes that permeated society and are still frequently found. The cleverness of the comics who use political incorrectness making fools of out-of-date numpties; their genius is in exposing the discomfort that most people do feel with people who aren't like themselves and making us realise we're all fools.
