Iran should stop being provocative...

...says White House spokesman Tony Snow, as the US considers moving a second aircraft carrier into the Gulf.

We hear that the administration is pondering whether to send this second aircraft carrier in as a show of force, a warning to Tehran over its nuclear programme and support for Shia militias in Iraq. I think it's just delightful.

Goodbye the Rule of Law in the UK

So it's over. The Serious Fraud Office has dropped its investigation into BAE Systems regarding alleged kickbacks paid to Saudi princes over their deal to buy jets. From the article: Lord Goldsmith consulted the prime minister, the defence secretary, foreign secretary, and the intelligence services, and they decided that "the wider public interest" "outweighed the need to maintain the rule of law".
